School Uniform Policy

The GPS school uniform helps to develop the school identity and enables students to gain a sense of being part of the school community. Our current School Uniform Policy is below:

 

Greenwith Primary School is proud of the School Uniform. The uniform is important.

  • It helps develop the school identity allowing students to gain a sense of being part of the School Community
  • It helps identify students when they are out of school on excursion
  • School uniform means that there is no competition between students
  • The uniform looks neat and tidy
  • Ensures the health and safety of students 

The School Uniform approved by the Governing Council is: 

  • Greenwith Polo Top
  • Greenwith Logo Long Sleeve Top
  • Greenwith Windcheater (Boss Top)
  • Greenwith Button-Up Top (Baseball Jacket)
  • GPS Navy Puffer Jacket or plain navy jacket
  • GPS Navy Puffer Vest
  • Navy blue mid-thigh shorts or full-length pants (excludes bike shorts)
  • Navy blue mid-thigh skorts, skirts or 3/4 pants
  • Greenwith Summer dress – blue, jade and gold with a jade collar
  • Greenwith Winter Tunic– navy, jade and gold pinafore
  • Navy blue Skivvy (to be worn under polo or long-sleeve top)
  • Approved Hat 
  • Navy Beanie
  • GPS Brand Beanie 

SHOES

Students should wear appropriate shoes for physical activity. Platform shoes and thongs are not acceptable.

 

YEAR 6 STUDENTS

The Year 6 polo shirt has the names of all the Year 6 students and teachers. This design is decided each year by students.

 

HATS

All students are to wear approved hats in terms 1, 3 and 4. The hats must be broad-brimmed, bucket or legionnaires with no cords or toggles. Students who do not have hats will be asked to play under the allocated shade areas.  The wearing of an approved hat in term 2 is optional during any time of the day. Beanies can be worn all year, however, a hat must be worn over the top in terms 1, 3 and 4, during playtimes. It is expected that hats and beanies are not worn inside.

 

SPORT’S CARNIVALS

Students are expected to wear the sports uniform supplied by the school at all interschool sports carnivals. Students are expected to wear a hat in terms 1, 3 and 4. 

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Hair longer than the shoulders needs to be tied back and away from the face.
  • Hair accessories (eg: scrunchies, clips, Ribbons) must be navy blue or jade and elastic hair ties must be plain navy blue, jade or neutral.
  • Scarves, beanies, gloves and headbands must be navy blue and must be plain without logos or decorations.
  • Hijabs are to be navy blue or black and must be plain without logos or decorations.
  • The school uniform does not include jeans or board shorts.
  • Pants/shorts with stripes or pants/shorts with visible logos are not permitted. 
  • Jewellery should be minimal and inconspicuous.  Simple stud or small sleeper earrings, a watch, a necklace (of significant meaning – to be worn under clothes and out of sight), a bracelet and no more than 1 ring.  Facial jewellery is not to be worn to school.
  • Coloured nail polish or make-up is not allowed unless for medical reasons.

Students not wearing the correct uniform will be supplied with a second-hand one for the day and a uniform reminder slip sent home. Parents of students consistently not wearing the correct school uniform will be reminded by the class teacher and in ongoing cases will be contacted by Leadership. 

 

Uniform Shop Open Hours

School uniform orders can be placed via the Qkr! app at any time. The Uniform Shop is open during term time at the following times:

 

Tuesdays: 8:30 am until 9:30 am

Wednesdays: 2:30 pm until 3:30 pm

Year 6 Commemorative Polo Tops

We anticipate that the tops will be delivered in week 6 or week 7 of this term.

 

Puffer Jackets and Vests 

These uniform items are a special order each year and there will be a special order available this term. Information regarding orders will be emailed to families soon.
