From the Leadership Team

Dear Parents & Caregivers

Welcome back, GPS students and families! Please join us in extending a very warm welcome to our new Foundation students and 13 new students transferring in from other schools to GPS.  We wish them all the very best as they join our school.

We hope you all had a relaxing and refreshing break as we begin another busy school year. We have had a very settled start to our new school year and it has been wonderful seeing all our students so engaged in their learning and classrooms this week. It has been fantastic to have our parents able to come into our classrooms and see their child's learning spaces, after the restrictions we have had over the past few years. A big thank you to our families for allowing the classroom teacher to start their learning program with their class when the bell goes. It is very appreciated.

We are looking forward to our Open Evening next week and seeing our families connect with their classroom teachers. Please make sure you allow yourselves the time to visit our Specialist teachers (Science, PE, Japanese, Performing Arts and EALD/ATSI) and their learning areas so you can see what your child learns when they learn about these curriculum areas. The Resource Centre will also be open.

We look forward to a successful year, working in partnership with our families. Please do not hesitate to contact the Leadership Team if we can be of any assistance to you.

Parent & Teacher Connection Meetings

Our Parent & Teacher Connection meetings are in week 6, 6-10 March. More information regarding these meetings will come out soon.

Fees – 2023 Materials & Services Charge + School Card

Invoices for M&S Charges for 2023 will be sent home via Australia Post in Week 2. Please keep an eye out for this in your letterbox. All accounts need to be paid in full by 14th April 2023, unless a payment plan form has been completed and returned to the school.

Our  Governing Council & Education Department approved 2023 M&S Charges is $355.00 per student. The SA Government $100 Rebate will apply again for 2023 to all school fees paid in full which will leave a total of only $255.00 per student owing for 2023. The Rebate credit will be applied to your student's invoice so please ensure you pay only the $255.00 per student. Eligible School Card applicants are exempt from the rebate.

School Card applications can be submitted online (the link is available on our web page or search ‘school card 2023’). A new application needs to be submitted each school year.  It does not carry over. You will still receive an invoice and statements and your school fees will be put on hold until we hear if your school card application has been approved or declined. Once the School Card application has been approved we will apply, a credit against the charge and you can disregard the invoice.  If your School Card is not approved, you will need to make full payment by the due date or as soon as possible.

Camps, swimming & excursions will be invoiced separately as the events occur.

Our preferred and simplest method of payment is via the Qkr app which is simple to download, set up and use.  The use of a payment envelope to pay with cash or credit cards is still available, these can be located at the front office. If you have any queries please do not hesitate to phone or come into the school and discuss the matter with our Finance Officer, Bianca Martyn or Business Manager, Sue McKee.
