Election Day BBQ

What a wonderful effort by our amazing Parents'  Association and families who facilitated our Election Day BBQ on Saturday. It was great to see so many families willing to give up time during their weekend to support the school, and interact with our local community. The event also provided an opportunity for families of children who have long since graduated, to come and have a 'catch up' chat and find out about all the wonderful events and opportunities that our school currently has to offer.

The BBQ raised over $1500, which will add to the enormous contribution from our Parents Association this year, ensuring that our new STEM program will be well equipped for all students to enjoy the new furniture and resources that are being purchased for 2023.

Many thanks to the following families for their support on the day:

Clarke

Padfield

Rowe

Towers

Brown

Larkin

Bui

Kudipudi

Mottershead

Summersett

Safety Awareness Online

It’s important that we keep our children safe online so I’m writing to remind parents to be vigilant in supervising students when using social media. The school has very strict policies around Digital Technology Use and a Mobile Phone Policy, which also relates to students taking photographs at our school, which is against our school’s policy. These policies can be found on our school website: https://albanyrise-ps.vic.edu.au/It would be greatly appreciated if you could please have a read and re-iterate the school’s expectations to your children.Below is a link regarding some basic online support/strategies for talking to students about online use and setting expectations. https://www.esafety.gov.au/parents/skills-advice/online-safety-basicsCopies of the eSafety guide which have been published by the eSafety commissioner can be found online. These booklets include a range of online safety tips and strategies. Link: https://www.esafety.gov.au/sites/default/files/2019-09/English%20-%20Parents%20guide.pdf

Swimming Starts on Monday!

We are looking forward to all of our students taking part in our Swimming Program from Monday. The 8 day program ensures students are exposed the the curriculum requirements for Swimming that lead to all students being safe when in and around water.  Families are reminded that students need their bathers, towel, thongs, and all of their normal school uniform items. PLEASE name everything, so we can be sure that all items are returned to their owners :)

Parent Helper’s Morning Tea Tuesday 6th December

Our school is all the better because of the extra-ordinary help received from our parents and members of our school community. You, our wonderful parents assist with classroom support, and with incursions and excursions. Our School Council and its Sub-committee members as well as the numerous Parent Association helpers, who plan school events and activities, add to the vision and culture of ARPS.

We, the teaching and support staff, have valued your assistance and participation in the school life of your students and their school. In your honour, we would like to extend an invitation to join us for morning tea, at 10:30am on Tuesday December 6th in the Function Room
