Mathematics 

Welcome to a new school year. It has been so lovely to see our students returning to school with a smile on their face ready for a great year. 

The first week of school has been a busy one in our Mathematics lessons with classes working together to play Maths games, solve challenges and complete assessments ready for the year ahead. Pre-tests provide teachers with important information on the needs of students and supports targeted planning of explicit teaching. While post-test identify student growth and areas for continued improvement. 

In our Prep to Year 2 classes, students complete one-on-one assessments with their teacher using the Early Number and Algebra assessment. Our Year 3 to 6 students use Essential Assessment as one of the assessment tools for Mathematics, this platform allows students to access their assessments online, receive immediate feedback and continue to practice the Maths skills focusing on their area of need both at school and at home through the My Numeracy section of this platform.

We have had a great start to our year so far and can't wait to see students continued growth and enjoyment in Mathematics throughout the year.
