We will be offering 20-30min after our snack time for homework and quite time.

SUNSMART

Please remember to supply your child with the correct spare hat to keep at the service – NO BASEBALL CAPS. ALL children must wear a hat outside – if they don’t have a suitable hat, they have to stay under the covered area. Please remember to label all items to prevent any lost property

OSHC will provide sensitive sunscreen that children could use anytime, but if your child have a special sunscreen request please bring the sunscreen label to keep at the services.

IMPORTANT REQUEST FOR FAMILIES (ANAPHYLASXIS/ASTHMA)

Notify the school about your child’s allergy as early as possible. Be clear about which foods, insect bites or stings or other allergens may trigger an anaphylactic reaction in your child. Assist them with details on where to access training and further information. Communicate effectively with OSHC educators.

Provide the Service with an individualised Action Plan for Anaphylaxis signed by your treating doctor. This includes details of prescribed medications such as adrenaline auto injector plus/ minus antihistamines and asthma medication. Supply necessary medication and ensure it is clearly labelled to store in a place that is easily accessible (not in a locked cupboard) and out of direct heat and sunlight. A copy of their Action Plan for Anaphylaxis must always be kept in their emergency kit with their adrenaline auto injector.

Asthma Australia has advised doctors to ensure all patients with asthma have a current Asthma Action plan and to update it if needed via a phone consultation, with any new plan delivered electronically. If their child has an Asthma Plan, families must consult their doctor and provide the Nominated Supervisor with an updated Plan or written confirmation from the doctor that the current Plan can continue.  The Nominated Supervisor will distribute any updated Plans to relevant educators.
