BE INVOLVED, BE CONNECTED

Although we are not at school there are many things we can do to help the environment, from home!  If you are keen to help keep our planet green then why not try some or all of the ideas below:

Get a recycling system happening at your house - a place for the paper and plastics, a spot to collect soft plastics (which can be taken to Coles / Woolies for recycling) and a third spot for the compostable items (have you found your local FOGO?), then let your family know what goes in which bin.

Clean out your wardrobe and pass on any unused clothes to someone (or a charity), to save them from being added to landfill.

Get on your bike! Rather than taking the car up to the shops, jump on your bike and help reduce pollution while at the same time doing something that’s healthy for you!

Take a bag to your local park or beach and collect rubbish, just remember tongs and gloves can be a good idea.

Check and turn off power switches at the wall when items are not in use to help reduce harmful greenhouse gases.

Turn lights off in rooms not being used.

Spend some time out in nature in your local area, soak it up and appreciate how beautiful our world is!

perhaps an old sheet can become a reading corner roof or cardboard boxes (from the shops) could become musical instruments!
