BE INVOLVED, BE CONNECTED

Supporting children's mental health during the pandemic and beyond.

The pandemic has challenged all of us, including our children.

The Royal Children’s Hospital has brought together an expert panel to discuss this important topic. Hosted by Dr. Anthea Rhodes (Paediatrician) with special guests Dr. Ric Haslam (Director, Mental Health), Dr. Alice Morgan (Clinical Psychologist) and Prof. Harriet Hiscock (Paediatrician).

You can watch the session here.

After watching this session, it reminded me of the quote I had on my fridge many years ago when my children were young.

“What small act of kindness can you do today to make a big difference in someone else’s life?”

A more recent quote I have on my fridge is:

“One of my most profound lessons in gratitude was when I learned to stop saying ‘I have to…’ and started saying ‘I get to…’

This week is my last week at SMPPS as the Acting Assistant Principal. It has been an absolute pleasure working with a group of professionals, who have remained committed throughout the term, with the students at the centre of all that they do. I wish everyone all the very best with whatever lies ahead. Remember that resilience is accepting a new reality, even if it is different from the one we had before.

Feel free to send your Where’s Wally Walking Tour and Chalk lines and Vines photos to south.melbourne.park.ps@education.vic.gov.au so that we can publish them.

Have a great break!
