Education in Faith

15th August  - The Feast of the Assumption

On Monday, the whole school celebrated the Feast of the Assumption by coming together for an online prayer service led by the Year 5/6s.

With Mary being taken into heaven body and soul, Jesus is fulfilling a promise to us that one day we also will be with him in heaven.

Mary is often seen as the first disciple of Jesus and so to her is given a special honour and a special place in heaven.

God chose Mary to be the mother of his son, Jesus.

Mary was always ready and willing to do whatever God wanted. As she was so special she was taken up body and soul to be with Jesus in heaven – this is what ‘Assumption’ means.

The pictures below are of some of the Year 2 students who coloured in their own Assumption designs.
