Book Week 2021

This year’s book week theme is ‘Old Worlds, New Worlds, Other Worlds’.

All classes were set a challenge of decorating their classroom door as our first activity to kick off Book Week.  These doors will be judged and the winners will be announced during Friday’s dress parade.  Stay tuned for the next edition of The View for more book week photos!

  • Bring a swimming cap (compulsory), a towel, a plastic bag (for wet gear), underwear and goggles (optional);
  • Carry all items in the College navy sports bag or the College school bag;
  • Ensure all items are clearly named.
  • Please note that girls must wear one-piece bathers and these may be folded down under the sports uniform. It is suggested that girls with long hair wear it in a plait to enable caps to be easily put on and hair to be manageable after swimming.
  • Boys are to wear swimming bathers not board shorts.

Arts Festival Evening - Primary Information

On Wednesday 1 September the College Arts Festival will take place with all students from Kindergarten to Year 6 being involved. The afternoon/evening will see students showcase their skills in The Arts through visual art, song, dramatic performances and dance.

The students have been busy rehearsing and preparing their items and of course the all important discussion about costuming would have happened within the classroom. Class teachers have communicated this information either via correspondence sent home or through a note in the planner.  For ease of changing into costumes all students from Year 1  to Year 6 are to wear their full College tracksuit to school on the day.

We ask that Primary students from Years 3 - 6 assemble in their classroom fifteen minutes prior to their class item beginning.  Prep, Year 1 and Year 2 students will be supervised after school until their item begins (these are scheduled between 3.50pm – 4.30pm).  Extra teachers will be on duty from 3.05pm – 3.30pm as we are aware that more students than usual will be staying in the playground after school.  Please pack extra food so that children may enjoy an afternoon snack.  Students will be dismissed after the conclusion of their performance, and school bags may be collected from their classrooms.

Parents of students in Years 3 - 6 attending After School Care will need to liaise with the After School Care staff to ensure that their daughter is brought to the classroom fifteen minutes prior to the performance. For students from Prep to Year 2 please ensure you cancel your arrangements.  If you need your child to return to After School Care after their performance please speak to your child’s class teacher and After School Care Staff.

Finally, there will be a BBQ, hot chips, wine & cheese run by the P&F with drinks available. Café 1847 will be serving coffee and hot chocolate.

Please do not hesitate to contact Student Services on 6216 7900 or via email or your child’s class teacher if you have any questions.
