Primary Hockey

This term, Mount Carmel has teams participating in Hockey Tasmania’s School Super Sixes and Hockey Sevens competitions.  The Year 3/4 Super Sixes includes many keen students continuing on from Term 2 grass hockey, ready to challenge themselves on the turf against some different opposition. They even have Maisie Harrison from Year 2, doing an amazing job against the older players.  The team did very well in their opening game against a very strong, mainly boys team from Sacred Heart.

It’s nice to see some new players join the Year 5 Hockey Sevens team for their roster on a Wednesday afternoon. They are improving every week and starting to gain more confidence. Thanks to Craig Dawes, Rach Sylvester, Jane Steele, and secondary students Sophia Di Venuto, Rhiannon Lincoln and Reese Noye for supporting the teams with coaching, managing and/or training at lunch time.  Good luck to both teams in their remaining matches.
