Principal's message

Dear families

We are in the midst of Science Week at the moment and I hear there are many online activities taking place this week. Our Science Leaders have been sharing science experiments with students that they can undertake at home. Some of the fun activities have involved tempering chocolate, making non-newtonian fluid, making ricotta, making sherbert, making your own PH indicator, growing sugar crystals, making your own lava lamp and growing your own avocado tree!  It all sounds like so much fun. Hopefully, the whole family have been involved in this fun experiments.

I remember that this time last year we were also in lockdown and we were navigating online learning for the first time. We managed to remain connected to each other during that time and we continue to do so during this lockdown as well. The wellbeing of our students remains the top priority for us here at MGSC. I know this may be a challenging time time for families. With this in mind there are a number of supports available. These include:

I send regular Compass newsfeeds to families which have links to many resources and keep families up to date about the arrangements in place by the Victorian Government, but more specifically in schools. If some parents/carers haven’t been receiving these newsfeeds, it may be that the email address requires updating in Compass.

I wish you all the best in the coming weeks.

Best wishes
