                            CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES DURING COVID

The COVID-19 pandemic has posed some of the greatest challenges for our communities and families are not exempt from these challenges. Students have had to adapt to online  learning and once again caregivers have had to juggle work and supporting their children.

Everybody is experiencing a range of emotions and if you are a parent that is looking to further support your child, I have listed several programs that could help. I know as a parent myself, I can feel a little lost as I try to support my children in this ever changing world. Below are some sessions that might be helpful.

Body confident children and teens

The city of Monash is holding a six-session parenting program.

With so many confusing messages around weight and shape and with many adults struggling with their own body image it can be difficult for parents to know how best to support their child as they move through adolescence.

This relaxed and informative seminar for carers of primary and secondary age children gives practical tips to help you better understand and promote positive body image in the home. Delivered by the Butterfly Foundation for eating disorders and body image.

Date: Tuesday 07 September 2021 at 7:00pm - 8:30pm

Presented online by Michelle Sperling from the Butterfly Foundation

Age Range: 5-18 years

Location: Free Online Event

Remember, you are doing the very best you can and we are all feeling the additional stress that comes with Covid lockdowns so take some time just for you. As parents we need to recharge to be able to be the best versions of ourselves.
