Mrs Kate Thompson and Miss Anna Maher

Students can still enjoy books at the press on a button on SORA! All you need is your child's school login details. I have attached below a guide on how to login to SORA and to find NSW PRC books.

Happy Reading!

Premiers Reading Challenge 2021

Many students are very close to finishing the PRC 2021. Keep reading those books everyone! Please note that the PRC has been extended to Friday September 3, 2021

Book Week

Even though we are unable to celebrate Book Week as we have in previous years, we are still encouraging our families to get into the spirit of Book Week at home.

A Book Week matrix has been developed with many fun and creative ways to celebrate Book Week. As the week progresses, you may like to try some of the activities in the matrix such as

  • attend live talks with a variety of authors through the DART Learning platform
  • create your own made up character from an old, new or other world
  • write your own short story based on the Book Week theme: Old Worlds, New Worlds, Other Worlds
  • interview a family member about their favourite book as a child
  • create an artwork based on a book
  • and of course - READ! Why not see how many unusual places you can read a book in?

We would love to see how your family celebrates Book Week this week - please share any photos/videos/work samples by either emailing your class teacher or Mrs Hofman (rhofman@arm.catholic.edu.au). Click the link below for a copy of the Book Week matrix.

Book Week Parade

At this point we have postponed our Book Week Parade. Families have had more than enough to contend with over the past few weeks so we will wait for a time where we can simply enjoy our 'Old Worlds, New Worlds, Other Worlds' parade in a relaxed and happy space.  Please keep your costumes in a safe place and we will give you plenty of notice as to when we will go ahead with our plan.

Book Week Competition.

The Book Week competition advertised in the newsletter over the last few weeks has been cancelled.

Book Club is open and home delivery is available!

In response to the current lockdowns, Scholastic have added the temporary option for all parents and carers to have their orders sent directly to their homes. This option will enable parents to place and receive orders while their children are undertaking schooling at home.

  • When parents place their Issue 6 Book Club orders online, they'll have the option to select home delivery or school delivery.
  • The home delivery option will automatically be added to schools in the lockdown area.
  • The home delivery option can be selected by parents at the time of ordering for $7.50
  • Your school will still earn 10% in Scholastic Rewards on home delivery orders.
