From the Principal

Dear Parents and Carers
Our wonderful SALA entry did not disappoint last week. The standard of work was brilliant and the construction of the Gallery exceptional. A massive well done and thank you to all students, playgroup members and staff who contributed pieces for display. I would like to express my gratitude to the staff, especially the event's curator Ms Kylie Pedler, who brought the event to life through many hours of planning and construction.
All artwork is connected to the theme: Resilience, Peace and Hope for the Future. The centrepiece artwork was created by Adrian Estrellante.
Adrian says:
The piece of artwork I created incorporates the themes of resilience, peace and hope. In order to display these themes, elements such as the fence and the hand represent the individuals who are in crisis or live in burden.
The hands escaping from the fence depicts the support that is often given to those in need.
On the exterior of the fence, the heart, the vines and roses symbolise the world of peace and hope.
Today's Book Week Parade went ahead as planned with a nice gathering of family and friends greeting the passing parade. Everyone looked great in their costumes with smiles and cheer all round. See photos in General Information.
Both you and your child will have the opportunity to have a 15 minute phone conversation with your child’s teacher.
Learning conversations are an opportunity for you and your child to discuss and share information about your child’s progress academic, social and emotional learning goals.
Forms will be completed at school with student feedback to help facilitate these conversations. They will be sent home as a point of reference for the student and parent for a conversation with the teacher.
To allow for technical issues, it is vital that we all keep to this schedule and end the appointment in a timely manner. If you think you will need more time, please discuss this with your teacher at the appointment.
Your student should be sitting next to you for these appointments. More Information will soon follow. If you have any further enquiries, please contact the school office .
The framing for the new gym windows at the southern end is complete as is the installation of frames at the rear of the JP Learning areas.
The concrete pour for the verandah area on the southern side of the Year 2 area will commence on Saturday and conclude next week. Unfortunately, the concrete slab on the Year 2 area's northern side is in poor condition and needs to be removed. The forecast completion date remains at term's end.
A reminder that we plan to conduct our Sports Day on the last day of this term, Friday September 24. The venue will once again be St Albans Reserve. More information to follow.
Yours sincerely
