From the Principal Team

We have reached the end of Term 2 and it has been a very busy time around our school. Our VCE students have just finished their GAT exam, the Semester 2 timetable has commenced, and teachers are finalising mid-year reports. Friday 28th June is the is the last day of Term 2 and we finish at 2.15pm. Buses will be running one hour earlier. We wish all students and their families a lovely and restful break.

YEAR 12 HOLIDAY REVISION SESSIONS

Some Year 12 teachers will be running additional classes throughout the holidays to help students revise their understanding of the content taught in Unit 3. While these are not compulsory, it would be highly beneficial for students to attend these, in preparation for their exams in October and November. Please contact Leigh McIntyre or Myf Saxton if you are unsure of times for these.

TERM 3

A reminder to parents that Monday July 15th is a pupil free day, as staff will be working together on developing the curriculum for Greater Shepparton College (interim name). Students will resume classes on Tuesday 16th July.

REPORTING

At the end of term 2 all year 7-10 students will receive a summary page, and a one-page per subject summary, that maps the student’s learning against the curriculum achievement standards, and places the student on the learning continuum, that best reflect the student’s level of performance and progress. All year 11/12 students will receive a one-page per subject summary that outlines the student’s achievement and effort towards their learning. These reports will be uploaded to our learning portal Xuno by the last day of term for you to download at your convenience.

WELCOME TO MATT KOUTROUBAS

With Julie Jerome on leave for the end of term 2 and the start of term 3, we are delighted to welcome Matt Koutroubas to Shepparton High School as Acting Assistant Principal (Junior School/Engagement and Wellbeing). Matt is joining us from McGuire College, where he is a Leading Teacher. We’ve really enjoyed our first week working with Matt.

LATE TO SCHOOL

Students should be at school by 8.50am so that they can be organised in time for periods 1 and 2. Students arriving after 9:00am must report to the General Office for a Late Pass. If a student has to leave the school grounds during the day then a note requesting permission is required, and students must sign-out at the General Office and sign-in if returning on the day.
