Year 8 History

Year 8 History students have been studying MEDIEVAL HISTORY and have been required to identify and explain the military strategies used to construct and influence medieval society in Europe, including knights and castles.

For this particular unit of study, students were required to design medieval castles and explain the key defensive characteristics they included within their design.

These included concentric designs which included moats, battlements and the construction of 'murder holes' within gate houses.

Each group of students had the opportunity to analyse another groups design and devise a strategy to attack and capture the castle.
