Puzzle time!
The Year 7 and 8 Coordinators have been busy the last few weeks completing this very difficult puzzle. There was no image to work off and it took the efforts of both staff and students to complete it.
We will have another puzzle starting soon! Watch this space and join us for a piece or two!
Community Time - Tree Planting
Year 7 students recently participated in the National Tree Planting Day.
There was a lot of enthusiasm as all students had the opportunity to learn how to plant an indigenous tree along the Hutchinson Street fence line. Look for the plant guards as you pass by, they will hopefully protect the delicate seedlings from the numerous rabbits!
Kym from the Shire of Yarra Ranges, was instrumental in helping to supply plants and equipment as part of their Ribbons of Green Program and will continue to support us as this garden is expanded in coming years.
It will be fantastic for the students to watch the garden grow throughout their schooling at Lilydale and to feel that they have contributed to making the school a little more sustainable.
Standout students who took on a leadership role to instruct our Year 7’s included; Jaden Dooley, Ellie Pearson, Adrian Van Putten, Tyson Kelly, Rori Barry and Vysal Khim.
It was great to see the knowledge, expertise and confidence of these students grow. A huge thanks to all involved.

** CONGRATULATIONS **
Congratulations to Madeleine Laven (Year 7) who competed in the Australian Cross Country Championships in Queensland and also, congratulations to Danielle Ellis (Year 8) who participated in the Victorian Interschool Snowsports Championships at Mount Bulla recently.
Unapproved Absences
Please assist us to fulfil our legal obligations and approve outstanding absences your child may still have on COMPASS.
The Junior School Office should be contacted if it is expected that your child will be away for more than two days. To this end it is vital that student contact details are up to date.
Parents and Guardians who may have forgotten their Compass username and password, can contact the Junior School Office for assistance.
A Baby for Junior School
Mr Andrew Box will be out of the office for a few weeks, while he and his wife bring their baby into the world.
We wish them all the best and can’t wait to meet their little girl, Annelise.
