“Breaky Club” -Thankyou to ‘BUNNINGS’ Bayswater

Our breakfasts continue to be well attended, we are averaging approx. 40 guests each week, some guests are very regular and have a particular order which the helpers are learning.

Following a request for support from BUNNINGS we have been notified that they are willing to donate 6 tables that we can use for our breakfast club, as we have been using borrowed ones up until now this will be a real asset.

We have one more breaky club before the end of term and will continue with the same program into term 4, so if you are yet to give us a try, please feel free to come along and join in, there are a variety of healthy options.

R U OK? Day September 8th

Staying connected and having meaningful conversations is something we can all do. You don't need to be an expert - just a great mate and a good listener. So, if you notice someone who might be struggling - start a conversation.

Here are some statistics behind R U OK? Day:

 · About 8 people take their own lives every day in Australia

· 65,000 people attempt suicide each year

 · Suicide is the biggest killer of Australians under 44 years

· Men account for around 75 per cent of all suicide deaths

How can we help to prevent this? If you notice (or “get the feeling”) that someone isn’t coping very well,

1. Ask, R U OK?

2. Listen without judgement

3. Encourage Action

4. Check In

If you would like more information on how to help, the R U OK? website has lots of information, ruok.org.au

Some conversations can become too big for family and friends. If you’re worried about someone and feel urgent professional support is needed, contact your local doctor or the agencies below.
