Systems Engineering
Systems Engineering involves the design, creation, operation and evaluation of integrated systems, which mediate and control many aspects of human experience. Integral to this is the identification and development of alternative system design concepts, trial and error, selection and implementation of the best design, testing and verifying that the system is well built and integrated, and then evaluating how well the completed system meets the intended goals.
The study provides opportunities for students to learn about and engage with systems from a practical and purposeful perspective. Students gain knowledge and understanding about, and learn to appreciate and apply technological systems.
Students in Mr Bechaz Unit 1 class recently used the website www.woodenbikes.com as a guide to complete the investigation, construction and evaluation of non-functioning bicycles into working models, made from a range of recycled items. The results were very interesting.
