LIBRARY

Read, read more, read more widely!

Lilydale High School is once again taking part in the Premiers’ Reading Challenge and our students are off to a fantastic start.

All Year 7 students have completed an introductory session where they discussed the aims of the Reading Challenge and the logistics of participating.

Many of our Year 7 students are well on their way to achieving their goal of reading 15 books by  Friday 8 September and 32 students have already met the challenge! Currently, our students have read over 1500 books!

This challenge is also open to students in Years 8, 9 and 10.  Any interested students should see Library Staff to obtain a consent form.

Students who read 10 books by September will be invited to a celebratory morning tea in the Library.

We have also reissued the Staff Reading Challenge to promote literacy and encourage discussions about reading.   63 teachers and support staff are taking on the challenge with a collective goal of 1495 books. Staff had read 469 books by the end of Term 1!  A display highlighting staff recommendations can be viewed in the Library.

Happy reading!
