Year 9 Outdoor Education

A new and exciting Outdoor Education elective for year 9 has recently completed its first semester in 2016.  Students explored a variety of local environments while learning skills that enable them to access the outdoors in a range of ways.

Classroom learning compliments associated outdoor activities and we explored concepts such as decision-making, risk taking, recreation, sustainability, and environmental change.

Congratulations to the first class of students who successfully navigated the semester, the accompanying pictures include David Flagg speaking to the group about the You Yangs from an Indigenous and Park Ranger perspective (note pre-service teachers Tom and Harry) and students practicing basic camping skills which they will build on in the future if they choose to continue down the path of Outdoor Education and NGSC.
