MIDDLE YEARS ART ON THE MOVE!

Year 8 thoroughly enjoyed walking to Blind Creek Trail, just 15 minutes from the College. Students were documenting their understanding of one point, two point and linear perspective along the way with sketches and photographs. More photographs were taken of interesting organic and geometric lines/shadows and of human impact on a natural area. We were astonished at the quantity and diversity of litter in and around such a small section of our local area. Loaded with source material, Year 8’s final project for the year is to create a ‘merged perspective’ artwork, bringing together layers of meaning about an ecological/sustainability issue they regard as important. Judy Watson’s Heron Island Project, is our reference. The students are reinforcing their understanding of accountability and responsibility for God’s beautiful Creation.
