TOUR OF HOPE

Brazilian soccer stars came to visit and spoke to Years 4 – 8 on Friday October 26 at a special assembly in the College. All the Soccer players are committed Christians and played for Brazil in different World Cup finals.

JUNIOR SCHOOL ATHLETICS CARNIVAL

All was dimmed by the clouds as we went out of the buses.  It was 2nd November when we went to the Knox Athletics Track for the Junior School Athletics Carnival.  When everyone was on the bleachers, Mr Farmer prayed for the weather.  Thank God that after that it was really sunny.  From the bleachers you could see the vortex area, the long jump sandpit, the high jump bar and mat and the relay and racing track.

Our favourite event was high jump, which was quite tough.  Most of the students in 4C were eliminated and soon there were only 6 people left – 4 boys and 2 girls.  The girls, Zoe and Annika, competed first. Zoe didn’t make it. Breaths were held and hearts were pumping. Yet Annika didn’t make it either.  They tried again but this time a bit lower.  Zoe couldn’t make it but then Annika did!

Eventually all the scores were added up and once again suspense was in the air.  Six representatives from the houses walked to the front as winners were announced. Third place was Parkes and there was some cheering as well as lots of heads in hands.  Second place was Deakin, so that made Barton first! Barton went wild!

At the end of the day, people went back to school tired but happy and joyous.  We thought the day was exciting, fun but also very tiring.
