PLANTING STORIES

An inspiring picture book biography of Pura Belpré, storyteller, puppeteer, and Puerto Rican librarian, who championed bilingual literature.

She travelled to America in 1921, and finding a new home at the New York Public Library as a bilingual assistant, speaking Spanish, French and English. She turned her popular retellings of stories into libros (books) and spread story seeds across the land.

These links will take you to two different reading versions of a beautiful story called  "Planting Stories."
