There has been a terrific response for the Magis Awards Breakfast this Thursday, with about 150 people nominating to attend. The event will be held in the Thomas More Exhibition Centre starting at 7:30am sharp. Awards for all major interschool gifted student competitions, the House Challenge Series, John XXIII Creative Writing, Public Speaking and Chess plus major awards will be presented.  Full results will be published in next Friday’s newsletter. You may still nominate by email to attend if you forgot to do so.

Attached with this Magis report is a flyer showing details of three major Gifted & Talented Competitions we will nominated teams for next term – Ethics Olympiad (teams from Years 7, 8 or 9), the Commonwealth Society Speech and Leadership Competition (Years 9 or 10 only),  and International Debating open to all years from Years 7 to 11. Nominations for these wonderful events need to be in before the holidays.  Students may nominate as a team of four for International Debating, a team of five for Ethics Olympiad,  or individually and teams will be created.  The Commonwealth Public Speaking is of course an individual event. Further details of these events are on the flyer attached, or the full versions can be obtained from the Magis office.
