Farewell and good luck to the class of 2021

The Year 12s completed their last week on site this week. On Tuesday the students had the opportunity to come dressed in their primary school uniforms. It was amazing the number of students who were still able to fit into their Grade 6 jacket/shirt/bucket hat. On Wednesday, students were invited to come dressed as who they wanted to grow up to be. It was lovely to see the number of students love their mums and dads.

Thursday brought our long awaited Celebration Day. Students were welcomed to school with a coffee/hot chocolate/tea and pastry (thanks to Bread Street) where they opened their time capsules, made their mark on the handprint wall and signed their uniforms. During the formal component of the day, the student and staff leaders gave speeches and students were awarded their Koonung Completion of VCE Certificates, Dux awards and a number of other achievement awards. Students were also given a Koonung pen and key-ring gift set. The day finished off with music and ice cream (thanks to the PFA).

Thanks must be extended to the Senior School Team (especially Zaiga Bendrups), Executive Team, Mat and Peter from the Facilities Team, Student Leaders, the Bacon family for the “2021 VCE biscuits” and Koonung teachers and staff for making the day a success.

In conclusion, congratulations to our 2021 Year 12 students who have endured the toughest 2 years of VCE. It’s now time to study hard and get the most out of yourselves for the exams. Good luck.
