Parents and Friends Association

So far this year, the PFA has donated over $16,000 to the school for equipment and resources not provided by the general budget. This has included a portable speaker for student leadership, musical instruments, lunchtime sports equipment, Japanese dictionaries, DSLR cameras, a full size human skeleton and and an ice cream van for Year 12 celebration day (and much more!). Your support of the PFA, especially through the Second Hand Uniform Shop and the Second Hand Book Sale make this possible. Thank you!

World Teachers’ Day - Friday 29 October

The PFA is keen to show our support for our amazing teachers at Koonung, either on the day or closer to the end of the school year. As we all know, COVID-19 restrictions are still hampering how we plan and hold events at Koonung, so this year we are looking to show our support for our teachers in a slightly different way. One way you can show your support for World Teachers’ Day is by catching a falling apple or sending a message of support to your teacher on socials using the below link. Help Australian teachers reach 1 million apples!

Second Hand Book Sale & Uniform Shop

We plan to hold the Second Hand Book Sale Saturday 4 December, provided we are given permission to hold this event on site. The PFA will be guided by the school regarding visitor access on site as well as spacing and vaccination status. The book sale team will seeking some assistance in the lead up and on the day.  Please  see the link below  to register interest in helping with this event.  Support the school by selling textbooks through the sale. A big thank you to Fiona and Dominique who are organising this important fundraiser for the PFA. Further information will be sent via newsfeeds in coming weeks.

This year’s second-hand book sale will be held on Saturday 4 December in the school library from 9.30am to 12noon.

We invite you to:

  • Submit textbooks for sale.  (Information about which books can be accepted will be provided ASAP.)
  • Come along on the day to buy textbooks for next year

Second hand uniform shop need more uniforms

Did you know that the money raised from the second hand uniform shop goes back into the school? In the past, it has bought equipment such as French dictionaries, musical production lighting, sports equipment and board games.

If you have clothes that your son or daughter have grown out of, you can either:

  • resell the clothes via the second hand uniform shop, where 30% of the sale goes back to the school (and 70% to you). Please note effective from the beginning of Term 3, all items which sell for $10 or less will be considered a donation.
  • See: Second Hand Uniform Lodgement Form, or
  • donate the clothes to the shop, where 100% of the sale goes back to the school.

The second hand uniform shop is open each Friday afternoon from 1.15pm until 3.30pm

You can drop the clothes off to the shop when open or leave at Reception. If you have any questions about the shop please email here:
