National Drug Awareness
From Mrs. Audrey Fellowes - Deputy Principal and Head of Primary
Yesterday, students from Years 6 to 11 heard from Tony Parsons, a leading expert on youth drug and alcohol misuse with his extensive background in Federal, State, and International law enforcement.
Tony started National Drug Awareness to partner with schools to educate and empower youths to enrich their lives, giving them greater strength to make positive choices. His informative and engaging presentation, which he evidenced with real-life situations, was well received and allowed students to ask their questions in a supportive environment.
Together with the dangers of vaping, alcohol, and drug use, he impressed upon the students that they all have the opportunity to make the right decision, and they need to draw a line in the sand about what they are and what they are not going to do. He encouraged students to talk to their mentors, teachers, parents, and friends and ask the questions they need to.
Face Masks
Just a reminder that all Secondary students are still required to wear a face mask.
Indoors
Everyone must wear a face mask at all times when you are indoors, including workplaces unless:
- You are seated and can maintain a 1.5 metre physical distance from others
- You are at your residence
- You are eating or drinking
- It is unsafe to wear a mask
Outdoors
You must wear a face mask outdoors in impacted areas when you are unable to stay 1.5 metres away from people who are not from your household. You must also wear a face mask at public transport waiting areas or taxi ranks and in outdoor workplaces.
