AROUND THE SCHOOL

YEAR OF ST JOSEPH

SCHOOL CLOSURE MONDAY 1st NOVEMBER - NO BUSES RUNNING & TUESDAY 2nd NOVEMBER - MELBOURNE CUP DAY

 3/4 CAMP UPDATE

Whilst the current status of all excursions and camps are cancelled or suspended, we are working behind the scenes to have things organized if the camp is able to happen on 17th - 19th November. We will be informing the students of this to give them as much notice and preparation as possible.

Unfortunately, we may not have a final decision until the week of camp, however this will be based on the most current Victorian Government and DOSCEL advice.

We would strongly encourage you to talk with your child about the possibilities and what might happen in both situations.

As soon as we have further information, we will be in contact straight away.

Please email us with any questions regarding this information.

Kind Regards,

Grade 3/4 Team

Junior Swimming - The children are enjoying their lessons.  4 lessons down, 4 to go.  This Monday-Thursday will see the end of the junior swimming programme.  Some pics of the fun that was had this week in the pool.

Bike Ed - The school will continue planning for our Grade 5 ride to Meeniyan and Grade 6 ride to Inverloch.  We are awaiting DOSCEL approval for these activities to take place.  The Meeniyan ride is planned for Friday 10th December, and the Inverloch ride will be on Monday 13th and Tuesday 14th December.  An early reminder to parents of children in Grades 3 to 6 that bikes need to be in good working order and this especially applies to grade 5 & 6 students who will be riding on roads. Senior students’ bikes need to be road worthy.  The bike ed. programme will commence on Thursday 2nd December, (hopefully!).

VIRTUAL BOOK WEEK

Due to popular demand, I am happy to say that we will be having a Book Week take 2 commencing on November 15th - November 19th.  An online Book Fair will also commence on the 15th running until the following week. This would be a great opportunity to get some early Christmas shopping done, whilst helping to contribute new books to our library, which is given a percentage of the sales in books.  A link to the online store  will be available through PAM.

Students can dress according to the theme which is Old Worlds, New Worlds, Other Worlds, or, they can dress as anything that you might find in a book, fiction or non-fiction. The possibilities are endless.

Unfortunately parents are still not allowed on site, but we'll do our best through our Facebook page and our School Bulletin to give you a taste of the day.  An online Book Fair will also commence on the 15th running until the following week. This would be a great opportunity to get some early Christmas shopping done, whilst helping to contribute new books to our library, which is given a percentage of the sales in books.  A link to the online store  will be made available through daily messages on PAM shortly.

Thank you in advance for supporting our school library and making it a fun day for our students.                                                                                                                     - Mme Gatehouse

PRAYER

Dear Lord,

Please help us to find joy in the midst of the mundane.

May we live with an attitude of gratitude,

take nothing for granted and live life to the fullest.

Help us to focus on you and not the turmoil around us.

Thank you in advance for your strength,

energy and grace that will sustain us.

In Jesus' name we pray.

Amen
