Knox Youth Events Crew 

Are you creative, enthusiastic and interested in being part of something in your community? Knox Youth Events Crew is open to young people 12-25 years who live, work, study or have a connection in City of Knox.   KYEC plans events like Green Foot Flicks, activities at community festivals and other places as way of encouraging young people to get involved in our community. Green Foot Flicks Youth Film Festival

We are looking for short films from local young film makers aged 10-25 years, who live, work, study or have a connection to Knox. Submit your film now to be in the running to win prizes and become a celebrity on the green carpet at Green Foot Flicks Youth Film Festival on Wednesday 5 April 2017. Films are due by Friday 17 February 2017, so you’ve got plenty of time to create a cinematic masterpiece. Finalist will be selected by a panel of young people on the Knox Youth Events Crew who plan and run the youth film festival event every year. Camp Kiah

This camp is a combination of learning social skills, building confidence and esteem, creating new memories and making new friendships. Whilst learning new ways of viewing the world and the capacity to change behaviours. This is achieved through a safe therapeutic process that includes individual and group activities. Combining the concept of the traditional Native American dream catcher with the idea that we are able to create and catch our own dreams, illustrating that children/ young people can capture and control their dreams, thoughts and futures. 2017 Parent Course: New Diagnosis of ASD

Why fit in when you were born to stand out? Six-week education and support program for parents with children with ASD. Yarra Ranges Youth Holiday Program

Bookings are now open for the Youth Holiday Program in Summer 2017. Activities include pottery, job-ready workshop, stand-up paddleboarding, trampolining, go karts, hip hop dance, yoga, cafe class, and digital photography. Head to:

LGBTI in an Emergency - Survey

The Department of Premier and Cabinet (DPC) has invited council emergency management officers to participate in research that aims to learn about the needs of LGBTI communities in emergencies in Victoria.  The findings will inform the development of emergency management policies and procedures that reflect LGBTI-inclusive practice. The research project will be managed by the Gender and Disaster Pod, in partnership with GLHV@ARCSHS, La Trobe University. It is funded by the DPC and guided by an Advisory Group.
