From the Principal
Thanks for 2016
This is the last newsletter for 2016 and as we drew to the end of 2016, our students have been preparing for their new year level through GradStart and SmartStart.
Last week we held our Awards Ceremony at Knox City Council Office. This was a wonderful night and a great opportunity for our students to be recognised for a wide range of achievements. Please see the full article listed in this newsletter.
The largest event on the Australian Junior Basketball Championship calendar - Australian Helloworld Schools Championships (ASC's) was held in Melbourne from December 4-9. Fairhills High School was proud to host some of the games for the 154 teams that competed.
Congratulations to Fairhills High School's Under 15 Girls and Under 15 Boys team who participated in the games with pride and determination. Both teams played extremely well with the Girls team finishing 6th and the Boys team gained 3rd place, winning the Bronze Medal in an exciting game against Brunswick SC 55-51. Well done to Riley Olsen who placed second in the top Under 15 Boys scorers with 11.8!
Ms Silvana La Leggia and Adelaide Macleman will be heading to North America with 17 Fairhills students from Yr 9 - 12 on our G'day USA cultural and educational adventure.
I would also like to take an opportunity to thank all students and staff for a wonderful year. To the Year 12 students, thank you for your contribution to the school over the years and we all wish you the very best for your future.
Lastly, may I wish all members of our school community a meaningful Christmas and an enjoyable and safe summer holiday. See you in 2017.
