Principal's Report

Routines for learning

This year we have taken further steps as a school community to embed routine practices in classrooms to ensure students are using High Impact Strategies for learning. There has been an improvement in the consistent use of these routine practices at the start of 2020. The continued improvement in classrooms across the board is evident. I would like to congratulate our students and teachers on working together to embed goals sheets, interactive notebooks, turn and talk, and conferencing. These are the practices that help ensure that all students learn. Please ask your child about how they are going using these strategies. It is a good way to reinforce what we are doing at school, and engage with them about their learning.

Lockers

There has been a delay in the delivery of our lockers from our supplier. Lockers will now be distributed to students during the fifth week of school starting Monday 24th February.

School Council Elections

Elections for parent representatives on College Council will take place in March. Nominations will be called for from 10th February and close at 4:00pm,  17th  February.  Please look out for the nomination forms on the website www.staughtoncollege.vic.edu.au or collect one from our front office.

Child Safety

Our school focus on learning, effort and respect lived through our motto of try persevere achieve are underpinned by an understanding that Child Safety is a paramount responsibility of the school community. Staughton College has a number of guiding policies regarding Child Safety on our web site located at http://www.staughtoncollege.vic.edu.au/administration/.

Please take some time to make yourself aware of these and contact the school should you have any concerns regarding Child Safety.
