Student Acceptable Use of Technology Agreement

All students should have now received a printed copy of the Student Acceptable Use of Technology Agreement to take home. An email has also been sent with the attachment for your reference.

As part of a review of policy regarding the use of digital technology within the school setting, St Philomena’s has developed a revised Student Acceptable Use of Technology Agreement. The aim of this agreement is to inform students, and parents of students, enrolled at St Philomena’s about the safe and acceptable use of digital technology for learning within the school setting. It also clearly outlines the expectations and responsibilities of staff, students and parents aligned with the use of digital technology.

This agreement will become part of the enrolment process for St Philomena’s. Parents will be required to sign this agreement only once, which will cover the period of their child’s enrolment (unless any revision of the agreement be required).

At this point, St Philomena’s requires a signed copy of this agreement for ALL STUDENTS CURRENTLY ENROLLED AT ST PHILOMENA’S. We ask that parents take the time to speak with their children regarding the expectations outlined in this document prior to signing. All students over the age of 10 years are also required to sign this document.

Please sign and return this agreement to the office as soon as possible.

Wellbeing Week 2019

St Philomena’s held its first ever Wellbeing Week in Week 7.

With a focus on everyone’s wellbeing, we began the week with a whole school liturgy focused around ‘gratitude’. We see gratitude in our daily interactions with each other, sometimes without even noticing. It is one of many positive emotions and is about focusing on what is good in our lives and being thankful for the things we have. Gratitude is pausing to notice and appreciate the things that we often take for granted, like having a place to live, food, clean water, friends, family, even computer access. It's taking a moment to reflect on how fortunate we are when something good happens — whether it's a small or big thing. We see acts and words of gratitude often at St Philomena’s, but in particular during Wellbeing Week!

A big thank you to Woolworths Moree for their donation of fresh fruit and vegetables used throughout Wellbeing Week, Tristian from Headspace for presenting to the high school students about mental health and wellbeing, Sally from Moree Health for presenting to some of our primary students about the importance of eating healthy, Miss Anne Johnston for giving up her time to teach our Stage 1 students about our connection with the environment, the Primary School Leaders for giving up their time to host the Friday disco and all the staff and students at St. Philomena’s for contributing to this week. We are very grateful for the love and time invested by everyone in creating this fantastic week!
