NEW - 1/2 Area - Cereal Packaging

Last week the 1/2 classes were exploring how food is processed into other different types of food.

They designed and named a new cereal.  They packaged the cereal and advertised the brand new cereal.  Each class ate their cereal and gave it a rating.  Fun was had by all!

NEW - Our Excursion to the Camel Farm and Belstack Strawberry farm

On Wednesday 4th December, all the 1/2s went to visit the Camel Farm and the Kialla Strawberry Farm.  First 1/2 FD and my class went to the Camel Farm. There were 400 camels there. We got to feed the camels. I saw one baby camel and it was so cute. We got to drink camel milk and it tasted delicious. When we finished at the Camel Farm we went to a park to have our snacks and lunch. We also had a play there. After we had had a play we went to the strawberry farm.  We say a man and his name was Peter.  He told us all about how the strawberries are grown and about the runners. We got to pick strawberries.  After we had picked the strawberries we got cherries in our punnet too. We also got strawberry flavoured ice cream. I had lots of fun! I learnt at the Camel farm that you could make hand cream out of the camel’s milk. I learnt at the Strawberry farm that it takes from June to October for the plants to grow.  I enjoyed eating the ice cream!

NEW - Gr 5 Just Leadership Day

A number of our Grade 5 students recently participated in the Caritas Just Leadership day organised by Kerry Stone.  The day focussed on identifying and displaying leadership qualities and some of the social justice issues facing our world today. This was a fabulous experience for our students, who were very much involved in discussions and speaking up in front of the group of 55 students from other Catholic Primary Schools from around the Shepparton area.
