Year 5/6 Division Girls Footy Competition

On Monday 22nd July, nineteen girls in Years 5 and 6 competed in the Boroondara Division Girls AFL Footy Competition at Bulleen Park. There were twelve schools in our Division who competed on the day, with BPPS being placed in a pool with three other schools. Unfortunately we lost all of our fixtures against each team, despite the fact that we were leading during the second half in two of those games. We did comfortably win a consolation game at the end of the day, which was great reward for effort for the girls. All students performed exceptionally well on the day !

Division Boys Netball Competition

Our Year 5/6 Boys Netball team competed in the Boroondara Division Netball Competition at Boroondara Sports Complex on Wednesday 31st July. As you would have seen in the previous newsletter, the boys qualified for this level after finishing top of the ladder in our weekly district competition.

 

At the division competition, our students performed extremely well, finishing the day undefeated and winning the competition!! What a fantastic achievement! Congratulations to the boys and thanks to Miss Grundy for coaching and training the team.

District Athletics Training

A reminder to all students who have qualified for the District Athletics team that training will commence next week (Week 4). These sessions are compulsory and will provide all students with the chance to build their confidence and skill level in preparation for the District day on Thursday 5th September. Here is the schedule for training sessions:

  • Monday Lunch - Long and Triple Jump (Madame Higgins)
  • Tuesday Lunch - Relays, 100m and 200m (Mr Batt)
  • Wednesday Before School (Fitness Club - if available) - 800m and 1500m (Mr Batt and Mr Wickham)
  • Wednesday Recess - Hurdles (Mr Milan)
  • Thursday Lunch - High Jump (Mr Wickham)
  • Friday Lunch - Shot Put and Discus (Mr P)

Year 3/4 Hoop Time Competition

Help Needed

The Year 3/4 Hoop Time Competition is just over a month away on Monday 9th September at Dandenong Basketball Stadium. We are desperate for parent helpers on the day to assist with coaching and scoring (no experience necessary). This is a fantastic day and we encourage as many parents as possible to assist.
