SENIOR ACTION TEAMS – MINI VINNIES

This week the Seniors had a taste of the Mini Vinnies Action Team. They learnt a bit about the St Vincent de Paul Society that the Mini Vinnies are a part of.

Together with many other groups such as the Soup Van, Conferences, Youth Vinnies, St Vincent de Paul work hard to assist those people in need. An example is our Hampton Park Conference based at St Kevin’s who are working hard at the moment assisting those people within our community that maybe struggling.

Seniors had a look at the St Vincent de Paul logo and tried to work out the meaning of it. They finally found out the meaning of the 3 hands you can see in the logo.

Seniors were then set the challenge to develop a new logo for St Vincent de Paul, thinking about their purpose and why they exist. Here are some examples of what the students came up with.

PE NEWS

REMOTE LEARNING

As we return back to remote learning and restrictions it is important that we all keep active, especially our children.

As well as their PE lessons our students at SFS will be given extra opportunities for physical activities. Both Junior and Senior Home Group teachers will post a variety of fun movement activities such as dance, yoga and workouts to keep our students active throughout remote learning.

We would greatly appreciate any photos or videos you can take of students participating in these activities and send to gfaiola@sfslynbrook.catholic.edu.au so we can include them in our newsletter or assembly.

School Sport Victoria posted a virtual cross country last term to encourage students to become active and this term they have a variety of other virtual sporting challenges that they have posted. The link for these activities is: https://www.ssv.vic.edu.au/Pages/SSVVirtualChallenges.aspx

Parents please ensure you are aware and agree with any challenge your child participates in and keep to the Stage 3 restrictions.

Stay safe and we look forward to seeing everyone when restrictions are lifted.
