Senior Class

Here’s the fabulous beginning of a story written by Hanna, using the prompt: ‘If I could be anyone for a day I would be…’

This morning I woke up but I wasn’t in my bed, to be honest I didn’t know where I was. It was dark and there were lots of bags around me. I was surrounded by a red blanket with light coming through it, I moved the blanket and saw my brother's rabbit cage. Then all of a sudden it clicked, I’m in my dog Jo’s house but why? I quickly scurried out of her house and looked at my reflection in the window. I looked like Jo! “What the heck!” I yelled. But instead of words coming out of my mouth, I growled Bark, Bark, Woof, Woof! I could feel myself start to panic, I caught movement out the corner of my eye, it was my dad stocking the fire inside the warm house. I threw my body towards the house. He can help me, I thought!

Editor's note: I'm very interested to read the rest of Hanna's story.  What great writing.

Junior Class

This week in the Junior Room we have welcomed a new student Riley.  We have shown him how wonderfully welcoming we are and how hard we work in class.  We have been reading a big book called Jeremy.  Jeremy  is about a girl who finds a baby kookaburra who she names Jeremy and how he grows from a baby into an adult kookaburra.  While reading Jeremy this week we have linked it to our learning in Religion, just like Jeremy, we have looked at how we too have grown and changed over the year and will continue to this year.

This week we awarded certificates to Link (25), Mia (50), Harmony (50)  and Nan Myint (50).  Congratulations to these children on their excellent reading habits.
