How have you set yourself up to work from home?

Most of my career, I have worked remotely. Since becoming a mum, I have organized my working schedule around the children's schedule, so nights and weekends. The world did not stop turning when the lockdown started and we bring in, a lot of things: we want to be the best support for our children, have our expectations, flaws and we can't cut ourselves from external demands. Quite a rollercoaster. There are days it feels like surfing the wave like champions and others when out of breath, we have to deal with hundreds of things at the same time. It will be a unique memory and I actually really enjoy now this precious weird time with my children.

How are you looking after your wellbeing while working from home?

I am trying to limit my time on social media. I am learning to live in the moment as I have always been a planner. I am sorting my photos. We have blitz dancing parties with the kids. I really miss sport but we do one long walk a day by the beach picking up treasures.

What are the things you are grateful for over the last week?

My son's teacher. B&W photography to hide tiredness and puffy eyes. To be in Melbourne: there is no other place I'd rather be while in lockdown, even if I really miss my family.

What are some of the things you’re most passionate about and most enjoy?

I am a news junkie. I love photography.

Favourite food or dish?

Lockdown prompted me to re-discover my passion for chocolate :)

Favourite song, band or movie?

Lately, I have re-watched funny TV series to keep myself upbeat. The Office (US version) and The Goldberg Family never fail. I might slowly become a little Beverley.

What is the funniest thing that has happened during home learning?

Anything related to my accent. Trying to look credible while explaining phonics to my 5 year old has been a humbling experience and we have had many laughs. Also there are some sentences I won't be able to say anymore without counting the sounds on my fingers ("on-the-week-end"). Prep Homeschooling gets into you!

What do you do for work?

Together with a friend I run Mama You’ve Got This, a maternal support and education business.

How have you set yourself up to work from home?

I work at the kitchen table when the kids have gone to bed (late nights!)

How are you looking after your wellbeing while working from home?

Walking early every morning and taking 10 minutes for a cup of coffee. Trying to let go of things that would usually bother me. Lots of deep breathing!

What is one thing you are grateful for over the last week?

The enormous effort the teachers have put in to make home learning fun - my son is so motivated and keen to learn.

What are some of the things you’re most passionate about and most enjoy?

Time with family and friends, being outside, especially by the sea (we all love a swim even in the middle of winter). Helping new mums. Painting when time allows.

Favourite food or dish?

Fish and chips - preferably at the beach.

Favourite song, band or movie?

We are listening to Jive Bunny party mix on repeat at our house right now - great way to get a kids (and adults!) dance party started!

What is the funniest thing that has happened during home learning?

The kids have discovered a love of dance parties. Lights off, loud music, torches and lots of jumping!
