Aboriginal Art

Year 7B students began semester 2, bringing great enthusiasm into their new elective subject, ART. The class studied three styles of traditional Aboriginal Art including X-ray style, Papanya style and the Wandjina figures to inspire and create their own designs.

The students used stenciling and spray paint techniques in the background of their work. Students were in the final stage of their artwork, using a dot technique in the foreground, just as the decision was made to return to remote and flexible learning.

I look forward to us all returning to the art room so the students can complete their artwork and have the opportunity to display their wonderful efforts in the Beaufort Secondary College Gallery.
