A Message from the Principal

Mrs Pauline Long

Dear Parents and Carers,

Last week as a school we celebrated Catholic Schools' Week. We reflected on what it means to belong to a Catholic School and we celebrated together through prayer, reaching out to others and by caring for our environment. Our mufti day on Friday raised $98 for Children’s Mission. Thank you for supporting this worthy cause. Special thanks to Wendy Rheinberger for creating the following slideshows for your enjoyment. You can see how much fun the students had weeding and cleaning up our school environment.

Thank you also to our wonderful school leaders: Lachlan, Seri, Hannah & Maddox for helping with our special lunch time treat of fruit salad and ice cream and for being outstanding role models to all the students in our school.

This Saturday is the Feast Day of our first Australian Saint; Mary MacKillop. I encourage you to read the RE section of this newsletter to find out more about Mary MacKillop’s life. Following is a prayer you may like to say as a family:

God

You inspired Saint Mary MacKillop

To live her life faithful to the Gospel of Jesus Christ

and constant in bringing hope and encouragement

to those who were disheartened, lonely or needy.

With confidence in your generous providence

and through the intercession of Saint Mary MacKillop

We ask that you grant our request of giving people throughout the world the strength to overcome the many stresses caused by the pandemic.

We also pray that the scientists have a breakthrough in discovering a vaccine for COVID -19.

We ask that our faith and hope be fired afresh by the Holy Spirit

so that we too, like Mary MacKillop, may live with courage, trust and openness.

Ever generous God hear our prayer.

We ask this through Jesus Christ. Amen.

Have a wonderful week,

Take care and be safe.
