From the Principal and Assistant Principal

A message from a parent...

Hello to all the Beaumaris Primary Team

At the end of another week of remote learning I have been reading the Compass updates and school newsletter. With the reminders about GEM, I wanted to say thank you for all that you are doing.

You’re keeping us informed with the constant flow of information you are providing to parents and the students via their class channels online.  My kids feel supported and engaged.  We do have some very difficult days emotionally but have been very lucky to have such compassionate and supportive teachers that the kids can move through these moments and start fresh. We love the incursions via Webex and the Kahoot quizzes this term.  It’s lovely to have these things for the kids to look forward to.

I’m so grateful that my children are at Beaumaris Primary.  I think you’re all doing a spectacular job.

Thank you so much to our parents for all that you are doing at home to support the Home Learning program for your children. We understand the demands on family life and we are ready to help. We know families differ and we encourage our families to find the best fit for their circumstances.  Stay involved, stay positive.

We are very grateful for all that you do.

100 Days of Prep

The 100th day of school arrived last week for our Prep children and  what a year it has been for them. On Friday the students celebrated this milestone in their schooling  and there are some great photos on our Facebook page. Thanks to our teachers and parents for making the day so special. Thank you to the amazing Year 6 Buddies for connecting with the Preps on the day.

Congratulations to our Prep students, parents and teachers for all they do to continue to stay connected, have fun and learn under very unusual circumstances.

2021 BYOD Program Information Session

Beaumaris Primary School is committed to providing our students with opportunities to develop the skills and knowledge they will need as learners in the 21st Century.

As you may be aware, to support this we launched our Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program in 2020. This program began with our current Year 4 students, which will move with them through to Year 5 and Year 6.

We are very excited to continue this program in 2021 with our Year 3 cohort, as they move into Year 4.

We will be holding a Parent Information Session for Year 3 parents and carers on Tuesday 1st September at 6:30pm so that we can share information about this program with them, in preparation for when their child begins Year 4. Due to the current stage 4 restrictions, this Parent Information Session will be held virtually. We will share a link with Year 3 parents and carers to access the session closer to the time. The session will also be recorded for those who are unable to make it online at that time.

At our Parent Information Session, parents will hear from our current Year 4 teachers, our 21st Century Learning consultant Rowena Ulbrick, and Brett Curtis from Learning with Technologies. The session will run for approximately 1 hour, including an opportunity to ask questions.

We look forward to seeing our Year 3 parents and carers online on the 1st of September!

Whole School Planning for 2021:

Prep enrolments are due and please let the office know if your child/children will not be returning next year

If you have a child commencing in Prep 2021 and the child is not yet enrolled for next year please complete an enrolment form and return it to the office as enrolments are now due.  As in all school communities, some families relocate at the end of the year. Please advise the office if you will not be returning to BPS in 2021.

School Council Update

Please read the update from Bruce Baker, School Council President, which is in the School news section of the newsletter. Thank you to Bruce and all members of school council for their ongoing support and assistance during these challenging times.

Gratitude and Mindfulness

What are three things that went well for you today?

What are the best things that happened to you today?

Who are you most grateful for and why?

What are you looking forward to most about tomorrow?
