Sick Bay Update

Parents should be aware that for student medical incidents, an ambulance will not always be dispatched immediately to the School unless the matter is deemed as life-threatening or requiring immediate emergency treatment. A suspected broken bone is a good example of an instance where an ambulance delay might be expected. In these instances, the School may contact parents or guardians to seek verbal permission to transport their child by taxi or a staff member’s private car to the Accident and Emergency Department at Bendigo Health.

If a parent or guardian is unable to be contacted but attending staff members deem transport to the hospital to be the ideal course of action, the Headmaster, Head of Junoir School or the most senior member of staff available at the time will determine the best action.
