Speech Night

Ulumbarra Theatre Speech Night Update

Speech Night rehearsals are underway for three events to be held on consecutive evenings from:

  • Tuesday 3rd December - Years 7-9. (6.00-7.30pm approx)
  • Wednesday 4th December - Junior School. (6.00-7.10pm approx)
  • Thursday 5th December - Years 10-12. (6.00-7.45pm approx)

All students are required to attend Speech Night to be held at the Ulumbarra Theatre.

With large numbers of guests to seat, students are required to arrive at 5.20pm to greet their House Tutors/Class Teachers and to have their attendance marked on the rolls. Students should go directly to their designated area which will be explained to them prior to the service.  All students will be seated in allocated areas.

Students involved in the Music Ensembles are to arrive at 5.20pm also.

Full Winter Uniform are to be worn by boys and summer uniform with a blazer for girls.

Please note that Speech Night is a compulsory event on the School Calendar. Students with exceptional circumstances can request permission to be absent, but parents are asked please to apply in writing to Dr O'Rielly.

Ticketing for Speech Night: GoTix

All three Speech Night events will be free of charge, however, obtaining tickets online via Gotix for each separate event will be essential to facilitate the planning of seating arrangements. Tickets may also be purchased in person, in advance, from the Ulumbarra Theatre Box Office, which is located at the Capital Theatre on View Street in Bendigo.

The Ulumbarra Theatre contains adequate seating for each child to have two guardians present at each event.

If you require more than two tickets per participating student, please register for a waitlisted ticket. Our experience last year was that all parents who registered for a waitlisted ticket were granted the tickets that they requested. Although please note, that the tickets released from the waitlist may not be located next to the original two tickets that you booked and will be confirmed approximately a week before the relevant event.

We ask please that you consider the needs of other families and ensure that if you book tickets that you attend the event for which you have booked. This will help to alleviate the situation of there being spare seats at an event that other families would like to have attended.

Tickets will be “on sale” on Tuesday 5th November at 9am.  From that date you will be able to book your Speech Night tickets from https://www.bendigoregion.com.au/arts-culture-theatres/event/girton-grammar-school-speech-nights, or at the Capital Box Office.
