From the Chair

I am delighted to announce two key appointments over the past week.

Mr Broughton Snell has been appointed as a Director of the Girton Grammar School Board.

Mr Snell is an Old Girtonian, graduating in 1993 and has children in Year 1 and Year 3 in the Girton Junior School. Mr Snell is a highly regarded plastic and craniomaxillofacial surgeon, internationally educated and trained and an experienced small business owner. In addition to his clinical skills, Mr Snell has been an active academic surgeon. Having already provided valuable input and insight, Mr Snells’ appointment follows his attendance at a number of recent meetings as a guest of the Board.

I am also pleased to advise that Dr Emma O’Rielly has been appointed as Acting Head of Girton Grammar with unanimous Board support at a meeting on Tuesday evening.  Dr O’Rielly takes up the mantle from our Headmaster, Mr Matthew Maruff, who has served the school with commitment and vision for ten years.

The Board looks forward to reflecting on 2019 with the whole school community next week at the Girton Speech Night events.
