Girton Volleyball has introduced a perpetual trophy called the “Brewin & McWaters Club Person of The Year”.

This award will be presented to the person who has shown dedication, commitment and made a significant contribution to Girton Volleyball Club.

This year’s recipient was awarded to Tafara Mhindurwa.

Since joining Girton Volleyball at the end of 2018, Tafara has shown exemplary leadership and commitment to the program. His enthusiasm for the game is infectious and this led to a several Year 7 students taking up the game throughout the past 12 months. Each training session he pushes each member of the year 7/8 boys team to develop their skills so they can play at a high level. When playing in his men’s division team he takes a leadership role as a coach and mentor to all players. This leadership extended to the Victorian Schools Cup Championship where he was an integral part of the team’s success.  It has been a pleasure having Tafara in Girton Volleyball and his contribution and enthusiasm are commended.

Thank you Tafara a very worthy recipient.
