State Cross Country

On Thursday 18th July the State Cross Country competition was run at Bundoora Park in Melbourne. We were lucky to have one of our students progress through to this level of competition. Jack Peacock competed in the 16 Year Boys 5km race. He ran a great race and gave it his all.

Jack placed 38th in his event and he ran a personal best with a time of 18:20.

Thank you to his family who supported him all the way and drove him to and from the event.

GWR Badminton

On Tuesday 16th and Wednesday 17th July, we had two teams of Year 7’s and two teams of Intermediate students travel to the Ken Kay Badminton Centre in Ballarat to compete against other schools in the region.

It was two cold days inside the centre, but it didn’t stop the students from trying their best and learning a lot about the rules of the game and how to play.  Although the students weren’t overly successful on the scoreboard, the knowledge they gained from the experience and the sportsmanship displayed was commendable.
