Games
During the Lockdown period, you may have found yourself purchasing or pulling out the old puzzles or card and board games. Not only are these a great way of spending time together but they also help develop important skills your child needs in their everyday learning.
Such things as object, number, colour, shape, word recognition, problem solving, social skills, spatial awareness and visual perception are also helped by participating in these activities.
Whilst at home, we completed several jigsaw puzzles that not only presented the challenge of completing the puzzle but also naming all the objects beginning with a particular letter of the alphabet. Apart from jigsaw puzzles there are so many games to play that don’t require a device. So if you want to develop fine motor, manipulation, visual perception and strategy skills and social skills like taking turns then here are a few suggestions that everyone will enjoy:
Spot It!
First Contact
Qwirkle
Set
Blink
Goblet
Dr Eureka
Top That!
Doodle Quest
The Crusoe Crew
Drop It
Q-bitz
Don’t forget all the old favourites too!
