SKILLS AND THRILLS -DIGITAL PARENTS SHOWCASE

The Skills and Thrills Digital Parents Showcase is a 20-minute video that highlights success stories about Vocational Education and Training (VET). It aims to help parents better understand vocational pathways - including apprenticeships/traineeships and school-based apprenticeships/traineeships. This information is intended to assist parents in helping their children make informed career choices following high school.

The free video covers a range of topics including:

• apprenticeships and traineeships;
• TAFE/ Private Training Providers;
• industry trends;
• Covid-19 impacts on industry;
• funding options available (Smart and Skilled);
• Vocational Education and Training (VET) options: School-delivered VET/ SBATs/EVET;
• where to find information;
• resources and support services

There will also be a live-streamed Q&A panel discussion to support this video, which can be accessed on the SkillsOne Facebook page on August 26 2020. The panel will comprise of industry and education professionals to answer parents’ pre-submitted questions. 

SUMMARY FOR PARENTS:

1. Content will only be available for a 4- week period from August 10 - September 4 2020.
2. Content cannot be downloaded or saved, so must be watched during this time.
3. Participating parents need to pre-register their interest at https://www.skillsone.com.au/
4. Additional viewing information and updates will be sent following pre-registration.
5. Content is free for parents.
6. The live Q&A Panel discussion will be conducted on August 26 (evening) on SkillsOne Facebook.
7. Parents can pre-submit any questions to do with careers/industry for the Q&A Panel discussion to info@skillsone.com.au
