Year 10 Celebration Cakes
The Year 10 Food Technology class have displayed their cake decorating skills in the “Celebration Unit” by designing a cake to suit their celebratory event. All 16 students exhibited skill, patience and diligence in both the theory and practical components of this assignment. Some students worked with fondant icing whilst others chose to use a butter cream icing. Mrs Regan and I were extremely proud of all of the Year 10 students and their commitment to produce aesthetically pleasing cakes which suited their celebration. Many of the cakes were also placed on our Molong Central Facebook page.
The next units of work to complete will be a Chinese Buffet, a High Tea and a food suitable for a Food truck. The students will calculate the costing of a food truck business including costings for 500 serves and then make two portions of their chosen food.
