Win a Mural by Stephen Michael King

Plus a visit from Andrew Daddo!

Come on Tarneit P-9 College students, we know we have some fantastic artists so let’s get drawing.

To celebrate Puffin’s 80th anniversary and the release of the second book in the Atticus Van Tasticus series, Puffin is giving one lucky school in Australia a school mural, painted by Stephen Michael King.

 

The lucky school will also receive a visit from the author Andrew Daddo, plus a set of Atticus books for every grade class in the school. The individual student who submitted the winning drawing will get a set of Atticus Van Tasticus books plus a signed limited edition drawing from Stephen Michael King.

 

To enter, follow these steps:

  1. Ask students to draw a picture on an A4 piece of paper that they’d like to see on a school wall.
  2. The picture must contain the character Atticus Van Tasticus https://www.penguin.com.au/books/atticus-van-tasticus-9780143796541and a Puffin logo.

3. It can be about anything they want. It can be an individual entry, or a class effort.

4. CLASS ENTRIES - Ask each student to write their first name, class and school on the back of each entry.

5.  Collect all entries and send them with a checklist cover sheet that lists:Name of school - Contact name - Contact email - Contact phone - Size of wall (approximate). Note that wall size is limited to 3m high x 6m wide - Is the wall inside, outside or under coverWhat is the wall made of?

6. Mail the information sheet and entries to:

eMemberships

Tarneit P-9 College and Wyndham City Libraries are working together to provide free eMemberships to all students. 

As part of Wyndham Council’s ongoing efforts to reduce the spread and impact of COVID-19, all Wyndham City Libraries are closed to the public. 

 

What are eMemberships?eMemberships allow students to access Wyndham City Libraries’ online books, audiobooks, study help services, educational games and movie streaming for free. We will soon have a range of online programs for you to join in. 

 

How do eMemberships work?Once your child has completed the sign-up process, their membership number and password will provide access to the Library’s online resources. This eMembership will be valid for one year. 

 

When will my child receive an eMembership?The school will assist students in signing up online for eMemberships, Wyndham City Library staff will be providing step by step guidelines showing how to sign up and use our online resources. 

 

How can my child receive a full Library membership and Library card?If you would like your child or any member of your family to have a library card, please visit your local library and speak to our friendly staff, once our Libraries have re-opened.  For now, all new memberships will be eMemberships.

 

I don’t want my child to receive an eMembership, how can I opt-out?If you would like to opt out, please advise your child’s home room teacher.

Additional resources for students and parents for reading and studying with FREE membership

  • Currently anyone can sign up for an eMembership with Wyndham City Libraries, this allows students and staff to access all of the online resources within the Libraries (eBooks/eAudio/eMagazines, Studiosity, Britannica etc.) this membership is now valid for all Tarneit Students for 12 months.    Please note down the barcode that is generated as this is how to login to apps etc.
  • Young people under 16 require parent/guardian consent to get a full library membership.
